A fish life...

It's official I have fish!! woohoo...

Ok, I know that this is probably not the biggest event that i feel it is. Most people have a fish tank as children and if they love it they continue the hobby into their adulthood. I on the other hand have never had fish that actually required more than a small fish bowl!!

I took my time and purchased the items needed and researched the setup and care of my fish and then the BIG day arrived. I bought the fish and put them in my tank. I am sooo proud! LOL...

I know these Parrot Cichlids need more room than this small five gallon tank so now I am in the market for a bigger tank! However, for the time being, Flitter N Flutter, (yes that is their names) are having fun in their new home!

I do want to tattle on myself, because I want everyone to know that yes i have stupid moments and i am not afraid to laugh at myself so please feel free to laugh along with me. After four days of joyfully watching my sweet fish, I noticed their tank was becoming very filthy! I reread the instructions, and yes it clearly stated that the filter was to be changed every 30 days. So i replaced it and pondered....Was my fish extraordinarily slobbish? Did i choose the two messiest fish out of the entire tank? Were my fish hormonal teens that loved living in their own filth and refuse to clean their room? Possibly, i might need an algae eater of some kind. Another trip to the store and another conversation with everyone that will listen and still I was clueless. NOO way was I going to clean that tank once a week. That was asking way to much!! So I did the only thing that I knew to do. I changed the filter. As I was replacing it, low n behold..something was amiss!!! The first filter was in backwards..soooo the water was not getting filtered at all!!! Wow, did I ever feel like a major idiot! So now two days later my fish are clean and happy, once again swimming and making adorable faces, aweeeee!
